It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Evelyn Doreen Popow of Red Deer, Alberta, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Friday, March 3, 2017 at the age of 94 years. Evelyn was born on September 6, 1922 at Red Deer, Alberta. Evelyn was a very beautiful, loving and caring lady who touched the hearts of others with her endearing ways. Evelyn was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and a dear and faithful friend. She loved her flowers, and loved knitting and crocheting for all her family and friends; as well as watching and playing sports. Evelyn will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered and forever cherished in the hearts of her family and dear friends. Evelyn will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Dianne Grote (Chuck) of Red Deer, Alberta and her son, Wayne Popow of Victoria, British Columbia; her grandchildren, Michelle (Arlen) Pecson, Gary (Marie) Grote, Jodie (Sean) McCormack, Robin (Marion) Popow, Natalie Demidoff; her great grandchildren, Ashley (Tyler) Visscher, Aaron Grote, Shea and Eve McCormack, Nick and Megan Popow, Tyler Demidoff, Brandon and Lisa Pecson, and four great great grandchildren. Evelyn was predeceased by a daughter, Helen Marie, a son, Garry Jack, her parents, Stan and Eva Gummow and a brother, Vern Gummow. A Funeral Service will be held at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Don Hennig officiating.
