Florence ANDERSON

December 11, 2008

ANDERSON Florence Campbell Kohaly How do you measure a life lived well? Florence would say that it didn't matter how many breaths you took but how many times your breath was taken away! Florence was born February 9, 1920 in the Oxbow area of Saskatchewan. She grew up in a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends but only had one brother, Glenn Campbell. Florence married Bob Kohaly in 1940 and they had 3 children, Marleen Soutar (Rick), Dale Kohaly (Kristine) and Glenn Wayne Kohaly (Virginia.) They divorced in 1954 and Bob died in 2001. She married Ted Anderson and they lived in Winnipeg before owning a very successful fabric store for 11 years in Red Deer. Ted was killed in a car accident in 1976. In 2001 Florence moved to Winnipeg to live with Dale and Kris before finally moving into Fred Douglas Lodge until the end of her life on Thursday, November 27, 2008. Florence was mom to her 3 children, grandma to 6 grandchildren and great grandma to 8 great grandchildren and she was fiercely proud of them all! She had many friends who stayed in touch to the end. She was a natural-born caregiver to everyone she met. Next time you see a beautiful sunset, think of her. A private service was held Mon., Dec. 1 at Fred Douglas Lodge. Her children will reunite Florence with her mother & father in Oxbow. A memorial tea is planned for the spring in Red Deer. If you would like to make a donation in her name, please send it to your local Alzheimer's Society or to Fred Douglas Foundation, 1275 Burrows Ave., Wpg. MB R2X 0B8.
