Francis ROSS

ROSS Francis John (Frank) - Born in Elnora, Alberta, on January 12, 1923, Frank passed away August 15, 2006, in New Westminster, with his loving family at his side. Left to mourn are Jenny, his wife of 60 years, his three children, Shelley (Don), Jamie (Barry) and Kevan (Nina), five grandchildren, Brock, Kirk, Bailey, Jordan and Brooke and two sisters, Bette and Gwen. He was proud of his pioneer Alberta heritage, including being the youngest competitor in the 1936 Calgary Stampede. He enjoyed cheering on his father, who was often the winning driver in the early days of chuckwagon racing. Frank served overseas during WWII in the Lines of Communications Signals. Returning home, he worked for CPCN Telecommunications in Calgary and Vancouver for 37 years. He spent many enjoyable retirement years on Mayne Island, before moving to New Westminster. His greatest love was his family. His gentle strength and loving guidance will never be forgotten. Memorial service will be held at Deer Lake United Church, 5135 Sperling Avenue, Burnaby, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2006.
