Frans ECKEMAN

ECKEMAN, Frans Frans Eckeman of Benalto passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Saturday, December 25, 2004 at the age of 67 years. Frans immigrated to Canada in 1986 and later became the owner of Benalto General Store for three years. He was an avid hunter and ice fisherman; he loved camping, hunting, and fishing. In the later years he worked as a tool and dye maker until he retired due to illness. Frans spoke 5 languages and was a member of the Sylvan Lake Royal Canadian Legion Branch #212. Frans will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jeanne of Benalto, one brother and two sisters of Belgium, one brother-in-law of Taber, one sister-in-law of Lethbridge, and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends in both Belgium and Canada. Frans was predeceased by his parents and one son Iwan in 1983. Jeanne and family would like to thank the Red Deer Regional Hospital Doctor Donnelly and Staff for their generous care and support. Prayer services will be held at the Red Deer Funeral Home (67 Street) on Thursday, December 30, 2004 at 6:00 p.m. A funeral Service will be held at the Red Deer Funeral Home (67 Street) on Friday, December 31, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at the Benalto Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta (101, 5208-53 Ave. Red Deer, Alberta T4N 5K2) and the Alberta Diabetes Foundation (12834-163 St. NW Edmonton, Alberta T5V 9Z9).
