Frederick PERLICK

PERLICK Frederick "Fred" H. Perlick, our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully at Valley Park Manor on August 7, 2004. Fred was born on September 2, 1911 at Strawberry Creek (Onoway), Alberta. He came to live in Red Deer in 1938. He married Ethel Erickson on March 31, 1942. After enlisting in the Armed Forces, Fred served from October 1942 to February 1946 with the 5th Division, 16th Brigade driving supply trucks to the front lines. Fred leaves to mourn his passing his children, Shirley (Lyle) Hocken of Red Deer, Alberta, Jeanette (Barry) Gabrielson of Delburne, Alberta, and Derald (Sandi) Perlick of Red Deer, Alberta; his grandchildren, Rick Hocken, Gerry Hocken, Mike (Jill) Hocken, Karen (Bruce) Fegan, Brad (Jennifer) Gabrielson, Clint (Pam) Perlick, Angela (Howard) Perlick, Chad (Crystal) Dietz, Melissa (Todd) Weirmeir, and Kristie (Randy) Forester; 13 great-grandchildren, and his sister, Mary Krenbrink of Hope, B.C., 3 brother-in-laws, 2 sister in-laws, many nieces and nephews. Fred was predeceased by his loving wife, Ethel, in 1994; his daughter, Linda, in 1981 as well as 3 sisters and 5 brothers. A private family burial service will take place at the Red Deer Cemetery on Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at 1:00 PM with a Memorial Tea to follow at 2:00 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion, 2810 Bremner Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Valley Park Manor Recreation Program.
