Frieda BISCHKE

BISCHKE, Frieda Mrs. Frieda Helen Bischke passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre following a brief illness on Saturday, January 22, 2005 at the age of 87 years. Her son, Larry and his wife, Vi of Red Deer, will cherish her memory. She will be fondly remembered by three grandchildren: Jody (Mick) Walters of Red Deer, Shelley (Anders) Sorensen of St. Albert and Michael Bischke of Red Deer as well as six great grandchildren: Eric and Zachary Walters; and Brianna, Luke, Kirsten and Benjamin Sorensen. She will be missed by one sister, Martha (Walter) Wiese of Mirror as well as by one sister-in-law Martha Zimmerman of Red Deer and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Frieda was predeceased by her husband Emil in December, 1971. She is further predeceased by four brothers: Albert, Eddie, Fred and John Schneider as well as by five sisters: Madeline, Emma, Erna, Betty and Leah.

Frieda was born on September 3, 1917 in Calgary, Alberta. Her family moved to the Torrington district where they farmed and Frieda grew up. In 1942, she was married to Emil Bischke and together they farmed in the Torrington area until 1958 when they moved to Red Deer where she resided until her passing.

Funeral Services for the late Frieda Helen Bischke will be held at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 18 Selkirk Boulevard, Red Deer on Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend James Schuelke officiating. Graveside services will follow at the Alto Reste Cemetery. If friends desire, memorial donations in Frieda's name may be directed to the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church Building Fund, 18 Selkirk Boulevard, Red Deer, T4N 0G2. In living memory of the late Mrs. Frieda Helen Bischke, a tree will be planted in the Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium Memorial Tree Park.
