FRIESEN It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaretha Friesen. She died surrounded by her family on June 4, 2005. Margaretha was born in her parent’s home in Chortitz, Manitoba on September 20, 1924. She was predeceased by her parents Johann and Maria Thiessen, brother John Thiessen, sister Tina Dyck and three siblings who died in their childhood. Until her death Margaretha lived on the family farm west of Lacombe, near Gull Lake, with her loving husband Harry. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Harry, children Clifford (Kim) Friesen, Wendy (Arnold) de Boon, Heather (Wayne) Russell, and Jean Friesen (Tyke Tataryn). She was also proud of her grandchildren: Steve de Boon, Matt de Boon, Scott Russell, Jennifer Russell, and Jil Friesen. Margaretha had a large and loving extended family, including her surviving brothers and sisters: Mary (Frank) Penner; Helen Peters; Abe (Helen) Thiessen; Agnes Thiessen; Susie Thiessen; Peter Thiessen; Betty Wiebe and Anne Thiessen. Margaretha will be remembered for the wonderful meals she prepared on the farm, and her sense of humor. Her hospitality was renown, and she welcomed one and all. She was non- judgmental, and easily found something good in everyone. She had many good friends of all ages, who all appreciated her kindness. She enjoyed the many years she worked as a care aid at the Lacombe Nursing Home, and will be remembered for the loving care she bestowed on everyone. If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donors choice. Funeral services will be held from Calvary Evangelical Free Church 4619 C & E Trail Lacombe on Friday, June 10, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. Interment of Margaretha cremated remains will take place in the Gull Lake Cemetery.
