Gayle COLLINGE

COLLINGE, Gayle Ellen Collinge passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Friday, July 22, 2005 at the age of 44 years, after a courageous battle with cancer. Gayle was born April 1, 1961 at Eston, Saskatchewan. She was raised in Eston and also received her schooling there. After that, Gayle spent a short time in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan and then moved to Calgary, Alberta where she trained as a hairstylist. Then Gayle moved to Kenaston, Saskatchewan, where she owned a Hair Salon. After that, Gayle moved to Red Deer where she lived for a number of years and raised her children. She then moved to Penticton, British Columbia. After being diagnosed with cancer, she moved back to Red Deer to be closer to her family and friends. During the time Gayle was receiving cancer treatments, she completed her Registered Nursing Degree at the Red Deer College. Gayle had then fulfilled her lifelong dream. Although Gayle was unable to work as a nurse, everyone knew she had found her true calling. Gayle was a very cheerful and strong spirited lady with a bright sense of humor which she carried along with her positive attitude right through to the end. Gayle’s cheerful and outgoing personality brought her many lifelong friends. Gayle was a loving and devoted mother, sister and friend who cherished her family deeply. They were her pride and joy. Gayle will be forever remembered for her special expressions such as “we had a little giggle”, and “boy my throat is sore”. Gayle, our beautiful, wonderful and loving mother, we miss you with all our hearts and we love you forever and a day. Love knows no limits to its endurance, No end to its trust, no fading of its hope, It can outlast anything, it is the one thing that stands When all else has fallen, we will keep you in our hearts forever. Gayle leaves to mourn her loss, her treasured and loving children, Ashley Bates, Tanner Bates, Austin Bates and Cylus McCool. She will also be sadly missed by her brother Gary Collinge, sisters, Karen Collinge, Brenda Brown, Debbie Verhaeghe and Renee (David) Wostradowski, as well as many other loving family members and dear and special friends. Gayle was predeceased by her father, Eric Collinge in March 1985 and her mother, Enid Collinge in February 1998. A Celebration of Gayle’s Life will be held at Trinity Christian Fellowship Church, 4346 – 39th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Alto-Reste Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta.
