GEORGE PALMER

PALMER IRVIN GEORGE 1919 - 2006 Irvin George Palmer was born in Caroline, Alberta on November 11, 1919. The family moved to the farm one mile west of Sylvan Lake in 1930. His parents separated in 1932/33 and Irvin went to live with his uncle Carl Boken on a farm in the Ricinus/Caroline (Burnstick Lake) area. At the age 16 or so Irvin went out to work for various sawmills and farmers until the passing of his father in 1944. Then Irvin moved back to the farm west of Sylvan Lake where he ran a mixed farming operation and a guiding and outfitting business until his passing. Irvin was admitted to hospital on October 23, 2006 and passed away peacefully on November 7, 2006. He was predeceased by his father George, his mother Esther and his brother Gordon. Irvin is survived by his sister Helen Andersen of Apache Junction, Arizona, his half sister Beverly Bergeson of Cremona, Alberta and numerous nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance for the late Irvin Palmer will be held at the Eckville Community Center, Eckville on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. Cremation entrusted to the Rocky Mountain Crematorium, Rocky Mountain House. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made in Irvin's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta or the Canadian Blood Services.
