Gerald LERCH

LERCH Gerald Lerch of Red Deer passed away at the Red Deer Nursing Home on Sunday, August 21, 2005 at the age of 72 years. Gerald was born in Halifax on September 22, 1932. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing in the ocean. Gerald worked as a Fire Fighter in the Canadian Armed forces and his work took him all over Canada, from Nova Scotia to Whitehorse, N.W.T. He retired in 1975 and then spent ten years as Commissionaire at C.F.B. Penhold and was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Gerald had a great interest in the outdoors. He loved fishing in Caroline and he was fascinated with the wolves at Nordegg. Gerald recently returned from Nova Scotia. He spent three years there with his sister and her family and was quite homesick to return to Red Deer. Gerald is survived by two sons; Richard (Anita) Lerch of Red Deer and Tom (Paulette) Lerch also of Red Deer, five grandchildren; Mitchell, Dexter, Kali, Keisha and Rechelle, one sister, Olive (Danny) Lerch of Hubbards, Nova Scotia, one brother, Alf (Joan) Lerch of Port Moody, British Columbia and two nieces; Leslie and Shelley.
