Gerry WHETTER

WHETTER Gerry Roy Whetter passed away after a lengthy illness at Red Deer Regional Hospital Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at the age of 50 years old. He will be lovingly remembered by his mom and step-dad, Vi and Vern Glasere of Sunnybrook. His three sisters, Bonnie (Jerry) Cornforth of Cremona, Debbie Whetter of Ponoka and Bette Christensen of Blackfalds. His nieces and nephew, Michael (Nikki) Cornforth and son Joey of Sundre, Jeri-Lynn (Brian) Bellamy of Cremona, Karma (Trevor) Friesen and children Chase and Keesha of Airdrie, Stacy and Sara Christensen of Blackfalds, along with numerous aunts and uncles and many long time friends. Gerry was born in Lacombe, August 30, 1955 and lived in Mirror and Alix, graduating from MAC High School. He then went on to complete his Psychiatric Nursing degree at Alberta Hospital Ponoka and worked at Michener Centre prior to his illness. Gerry was a kind, gentle soul who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He spent many hours writing, working on his computer, motorcycling and spending time with his family and close friends. His love of the mountain brought him back many times. Gerry’s quiet generosity was known to many as he was always doing a good deed to make someone else’s world nicer. Gerry was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Samuel and Ella Ball, his father Roy, and paternal grandparents, aunt and uncle, Lucielle and Art Skage and son Danny. We would like to express our gratitude for the excellent care Gerry received from the nurses on the ICU and Hemodialysis unit at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. To Dr. Jim our sincere thanks for his patience, understanding, and extraordinary care of Gerry over the years.
