GILES, 1946 - 2006 Mrs. Lorna Marlene Giles, beloved wife of Mr. Ron Giles of Tees, Alberta, passed away after a very brave battle with cancer, at the Lacombe Hospital & Care Centre, Lacombe, Alberta on Saturday, August 5, 2006, three days short of her 60th Birthday. Lorna was born on August 8, 1946 at Summerland, British Columbia and grew up to be a woman of many interests and talents. Lorna was generous with her efforts and the time she gave to her community. She was devoted and loyal to her family and friends. Lorna was of small stature but indomitable spirit. She had great strength of character and courage, a feisty personality, and a terrific sense of humor with which she met the many challenges that came her way during her life. Family, friends, and neighbors were always welcome to drop by for a game of cards, a meal or a cup of coffee and a visit. Lorna passed away knowing that she was much loved and can now rest peacefully. She will be forever missed by her husband, Ronald Giles of Tees, Alberta, their children, Trent Cook of Edmonton, Alberta, Tracy (Daren) Chaput of Alberta Beach, Alberta, Mike Giles of Calgary, Alberta and Terry Sue (Isben) Larsen of Millet, Alberta and her eight grandchildren, Candace, Brittany, Kristie, Eric, Emil, Anna Lise, Braden and Jackson, who all loved their Gramma. She will also be very sadly missed by her sister, Audrey (Lloyd) Smith of Red Deer, Alberta and her brother, Wade (Barbara) McWhirter of Edmonton, Alberta, brother and sisters-in-law, Bob (Jean) Giles, Beverly Giles, and their families, as well as special friends, Anna Vandenpol, Sharon Ramstad, Sheila Sutton and niece-in-law, Dorothy. Lorna was predeceased by her parents, step-father, a sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law and her in-laws. A Public Memorial Service will be held at the Tees Hall, Tees, Alberta on Sunday, August 20, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Shelagh McClelland officiating. Cremation entrusted to Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. If desired, Memorial Donation’s in Lorna’s memory may be made directly to the Alberta Cancer Society, P.O. Box 2574, Stn.
