Glen ADCOCK

ADCOCK Glen Adcock was born on August 15, 1916 at Castor, Alberta and passed away on May 10, 2007 at the Lacombe Hospital after a short battle with cancer. His fondest memories were of growing up on a farm in the Rocky Mountain House area. He later moved to the Lincoln District where he met Jean Spink. They were united in marriage on June 29, 1938 and had five sons and five daughters. Glen worked for Jean’s parents for several years and in 1943 they moved to their own homestead in the Meadowbrook District where they started to establish their own small mixed farming operation. In May, 1958 they moved their growing family into the present home that Glen built on the home quarter and where they were able to remain until January 25, 2007. Glen leaves to mourn his loving wife Jean; ten children: Marie (Barry) Warne of Peace River, Chuck (Carol) Adcock of Ponoka, Violet (Eric) Darrach of Red Deer, Bob (Connie) Adcock of Ponoka, Miles (Fay) Adcock of Lacombe, Margaret (Neale) Ronald of Clive, Wade (Kathy) Adcock of Ponoka, Kim Adcock of Ponoka, Linda Rendle of Trochu and Sandy (Norma) Adcock of Edmonton; 33 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren brother Leonard Adcock of Oliver, BC; and sister Clarice Ehlert of Canby, Oregon. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Sandra Lynn Warne of Ponoka, great-grandson Neil Brian Warne of Peace River, grandson Kwin Robert Adcock of Ponoka, sister Olive Charette of New Westminster, BC and brothers Willis, Paul and Roland all of BC. Funeral Services were held from the Ponoka Funeral Home on May 14, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with his immediate family surrounding him. Interment followed in the Forest Home Cemetery, Ponoka. If friends desire donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Association or to the Palliative Care Unit at the Lacombe Hospital.
