GOMEZ Mr. Luis Gomez of Red Deer, met his Lord and Saviour, after passing away on Monday, April 3, 2006 at the wonderful age of 102 and one half years. Luis was born on September 12, 1903 at Mexico City. He immigrated to Canada with his wife, Alicia in 1975 to be close to their daughter, Lou. Luis loved life and music. His hobbies included painting, photography, watching videos of his beloved Mexico, beating his daughter at a game of chess and participating in most of the recreational activities offered by Barrett Place and lastly, The Pines Lodge (Assisted Living) in Red Deer, where he resided. Luis was loved and respected by the Hispanic Community where he made faithful friends; he also made many friends within his adoptive Canadian Country. Luis will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered and forever cherished in the hearts of his family and many dear friends. A Chapter Complete A Page Turned, A Life Well-Lived, A Rest Well-Earned. Luis will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Lou, son-in-law, Richard, grandson, Carlos, two beloved great granddaughters, Cherilynn and Nichole and their mom, Beth. Luis was predeceased by his beloved wife, Alicia in 1988. A Public Praise and Worship Service will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapels, 4820 - 45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. A Public Celebration of Luis's Life will be held at the Hispanic Church "Fuente de Vida", 4519 - 53rd Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, April 7, 2006 at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Red Deer Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta.
