GOODMUNDSON Mrs. Irene Ethelda Goodmundson (Chitwood) passed away Friday, October 28, 2005 at the age of 84 years. Irene was born May 18, 1921 in Port Orchard, Washington. She moved to the Ricinus district when she was ten years old. Irene married John Goodmundson in 1940 and they farmed in the Markerville area until retiring in 1968 to the Hamlet of Markerville. In 1973 Irene and John worked together as campground caretakers at Ram River Falls for 11 years and Fish Lake for 3 years. They moved to Innisfail in 1991. Irene had many hobbies, which included fishing, camping, crafts, playing games and cards, bowling, swimming and traveling. She also belonged to several clubs. As a member of the Tindastol WI she was recognized many times for her crafts and baking. She was a leader of the Tindastol Girl’s Club and an active member of the Good Neighbor’s Club, Icelandic Society and Inspirational Ladies Fun and Fellowship group. Family was very important to Irene and she thoroughly enjoyed all family gatherings. Irene is survived by two daughters Louise Welsh of Nanton, Marg Fehr (Del) of Innisfail, grandchildren Darcy Welsh (Brenda) of Nanton, Shelley Belbin (Tim) of Innisfail, Dennis Fehr (Dawn) of Innisfail and eight great grandchildren. Irene was predeceased by her husband John, sister Ruth, brother Bill, son-in-law Gerald and great grandson Bradley. A Memorial Service will be held at the Church Of The Nazarene (4904- 48th St. Innisfail) on Wednesday November 2, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to a charity of ones choice. As a memorial tribute to Irene Goodmundson a tree will be planted in the Tree Memorial Park (Innisfail) by HEARTLAND FUNERAL SERVICES LTD.
