GOODRICH MST/CPR. Roy David Passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 1st, 2008 in his 37th year, in the loving arms of his wife, Stephanie, son, Brayden and surrounded by family and friends after a short courageous battle with cancer. Loving son of Roy and Audrey Goodrich. Dear brother of Debbie (Dean) Flay, Wanda (Terry) Bexson, Sharon and Brenda. Loving son-in-law to Bob and Heather Langille. Dear brother-in-law of Ken and Nicole Mundell and Jason Langille. Dave will be sadly missed by numerous nephews and nieces of both families. Dave was a career soldier as a Paratrooper with 3rd RCR., stationed at CFB Petawawa. Dave was also stationed at CFB Kingston and CFB Trenton. During his military career, having had one tour in Afganistan in February 2005 and was currently training for a second deployment in August 2008 until diagnosed with his illness. Dave's friends (military and civilian) knew of his devotion to his military career and his military family lifestyle. Dave was also an avid motorcyclist who enjoyed riding and meeting new friends along the open road. His weekend "meet and greet" in his various garages, were enjoyed by all who knew him, also his love for garage sales. Family and Friends will be received at the Neville Funeral Home, 491 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Thursday September 4th, 2008 from 7-10 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at S118 3RCR Building, CFB Petawawa on Friday, September 5th, 2008 at 11 a.m. Dave's family wishes to thank all Doctors and Nurses of both The Ottawa Civic and General Hospitals for their compassionate care of Dave and his family members during this difficult time. Special thanks to Dr. Davenport, Lt. Mike Gabryel, Maureen Meridew and all of Dave's military friends who visited him and made his final days so special. We are forever indebted to you. The family asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Children's Cancer Clinic at C.H.E.O. in memory of Dave.
