ROBINSON, GORDON Mr. Gordon Stanley (Stan) Robinson, beloved husband of Mrs. Elsie Robinson of Red Deer, passed away peacefully at the Bethany CollegeSide, Red Deer on Saturday, January 8, 2005 at the age of 88 years. Stan was born on August 21, 1916 at Summerland, British Columbia. He served his country in the European Theatre during World War II. Stan retired from the Red Deer Court House in 1979, after twenty-three years of service. Stan's greatest interest was caring for his family and extended family, whom he loved dearly. He was very involved within his community and served on the Board of Gaetz Memorial United Church, he was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, a Board Member of Parkland (Community) Credit Union, the Masonic Lodge (Kenilworth), Order of the Eastern Star No. 2, Alberta Retired Public Employees, Board of The Golden Circle and Board of the Senior Citizen's Downtown House. Stan also enjoyed swimming and playing bridge in his spare time and he spent a great deal of time keeping a lovely yard. Stan leaves to mourn his loss, his loving wife, Elsie, two daughters, Jean (Mike) Geldert and family of Calgary, Alberta, Lori Hiltz and family of Penticton, British Columbia, two step-sons, John Easton of Lethbridge, Alberta and Robert (Wilma) Easton and family of Cold Lake, Alberta, six grandchildren and one special great grandson. Stan will also be sadly missed by his sister, Jean Young, also of Penticton, British Columbia, as well as numerous other relatives and longtime friends. A Celebration of Stan's Life will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapels, 4820 - 45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, January 13, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. with The Reverend Brenda Kersell officiating. Cremation entrusted to the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. If desired, Memorial Donations Stan's honour may be made directly to the Alzheimer Society of Red Deer, 4620 - 47th Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 6C3, to the Gaetz Memorial United Church, 4758 Ross Street, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 1X2 or to the Salvation Army Church, 4837 - 54th Street, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 2G5.
