GRANDY, 1919 - 2006 Mrs. Thelma Doris Grandy of Red Deer, passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Sunday, September 10, 2006 at the age of 87 years. Thelma was born on April 17, 1919 at Halifax, Nova Scotia, where she was raised. She married during World War II and successfully raised a family of four children. Thelma enjoyed being a Sunday School Teacher, square dancing and traveling. After the passing of her husband, she moved to Red Deer at the age of seventy-five, to spend her remaining years. Thelma made many friends and touched many people's lives. Thelma leaves to mourn her loss, her daughter, Judy Buchanan of Fall River, Nova Scotia, her sons, Ron of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Robert of Halifax, Nova Scotia and Laurie of Red Deer, Laurie's wife, Lois, also of Red Deer and her grandchildren, Julie VanNorden and Karen Buchanan, both of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Christine Grandy of Toronto, Ontario and Lauren Grandy of Red Deer. Thelma was predeceased by her husband, Murray Grandy. A Public Memorial Service will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820 - 45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
