GRANT, 1944- 2008 Mr. William "Bill" Lachlan Grant, beloved husband of Jan Grant of Red Deer, passed away after a short illness at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Monday, March 3, 2008 at the age of 63 years. Bill was born on November 22, 1944 at Kimberley, British Columbia, where he was raised and attended school. After his schooling was completed Bill joined the Canadian Air Force, serving two tours of duty in Germany and one tour with the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Egypt. Upon his retirement from the Air Force, Bill became a member of the Canadian Corp of Commissionaires until his passing. Bill is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Jan Grant, a step-son, Michael (Jane) of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, a step-daughter, Donna (Ken) both of Red Deer, a grandson, Alexander of Red Deer, two sisters, Heather Grant of Abbotsford, British Columbia, Jean Grant (Doug) of Calgary, two nephews, Stan (Lavonne) and their four children, Jamie, Aaron, Hughie and Cecilia all of Edgewater, British Columbia, Scott (Tessa) and their three children, Estaben, Mateo and Chantal all of Oshawa, Ontario and two nieces, Andrea (Hooman) of Toronto, Ontario and Katrina (Trevor) of Yellowknife, North West Territories. He was predeceased by his parents, Andy and Jessie Grant of Kimberley. A Funeral Service will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapels, 4820-45 Street, Red Deer on Friday, March 7, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. Cremation entrusted to Central Alberta Crematorium.
