HACHEY

September 27, 2006

HACHEY, 1917 - 2006 It is with sorrow, but also with peace, that we announce the passing of Mr. Fernand Viateur 'Bud' Hachey at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Friday, September 22, 2006 at the age of 88 years. He was a very bright light in all of our lives and he will surely be missed. Bud's immediate smile, his booming greeting, and his unfalteringly positive attitude and zest for life will be what we remember when we think of Dad. He was an air force man for twenty-eight years of his life, raised six children, and had a love of classical music that he passed on to many. He was a self-taught violinist, a passionate golfer, and a pool player to be reckoned with. Thursday night pool ran for twenty-two years at his home in Rossland, British Columbia - seldom ever missed. Bud hailed from the Gaspé Coast in Quebec and made many trips back and forth across the country. He always had a "plan" - something to look forward to - a next adventure on which to embark. He believed in always moving forward and lived a full and wonderful life. Bud leaves to mourn his loss, his children: Rose-Marie (Barry) Bullis of Barrie, Ontario; Huguette (Douglas) Fox of Abbotsford, British Columbia; Guy (Lia) Hachey of Hoofdorp, Netherlands; Suzanne (John) Gordon of Barrie, Ontario; Jacques Hachey and Daniel (Cory) Hachey, all of Red Deer, Alberta, his grandchildren: Richard (Carol) and Kerry (Parijata) Bullis; Brian (Cyndy), Mark (Kathy) Fox, Michelle (Mark) Sergent, Suzanne Fox; Jerry Hachey, Kelly (Bas) Bakker; Rob (Renata) Gordon, Heather Gordon; Danielle, Rebecca, and Spencer Hachey, his great grandchildren: Benjamin and Joel Fox; Erica Fox; Leah and Landon Vanzella; Gabriela and Veronica Gordon; and Guy Bakker. He will also be sadly missed by his two sisters, Marcel Larouche of St. Jerome, Quebec and Yvette Leclerc of Gloucester, Ontario. Bud was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marie Stella Hachey (nee Savoie) who passed away in April of 2004. Prayers will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820 - 45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. A Public Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508 - 48A Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, September 28, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation will follow at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. Bud Hachey's family would like to extend their most sincere appreciation to the staff at Westpark Lodge for taking such good care of him, Dr. Jeff Mulder and his staff for always treating Dad so well, the Home Care Nurses who cared for him, and the staff at the Red Deer Regional Hospital - most recently Unit 33 - who were very kind and caring.
