TAYLOR Hallie Kathleen 1913 – 2006 Kay was born on August 23, 1913 in Red Deer, Alberta to George and Lynda Moore of Markerville District. She passed away peacefully on November 24, 2006 in Red Deer at the age of 93. She was predeceased by her husband Lorren Robert Taylor, four brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her four children: Dale (Betty) of Calgary, Devon (Jackee) of Calgary, Terry Jean Kocher (Peter) of Red Deer and Ron (Mary-Gayle) of Red Deer, sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Kay and Lorren began married life January 1, 1935, living two years in a tent in Kananaskis country, while Lorren worked building roads in a relief camp. With her husband serving as Captain in the Canadian Army overseas, Kay established a home in Red Deer in the Parkville area, where she and Lorren raised their family. Kay was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and one of the first members of the Church in Red Deer. She was a woman of faith and integrity, setting a wonderful example for her posterity to follow. She enjoyed her sixteen years working a Michener Center and often spoke fondly of the people she served there. Upon retirement she was free to travel the world, with a special fondness for the Holy Land. Kay loved Canada, Alberta and especially the City of Red Deer, volunteering many hours of service. She particularly enjoyed playing Mrs. Santa at events around the city. With her wisdom and strong opinions she was often asked to sit on committees and boards within the community. She found beauty in the small things and joy in her journey. We will miss her dearly, but know she is now joyfully reunited with her many loved ones. Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 29, 2006 at 1:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Bower Chapel) 3002 - 47 Avenue, Red Deer. Interment will follow at the Red Deer Cemetery.
