HUSBAND Henry John It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Henry John Husband at the age of 82. Henry passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Saturday, December 13, 2008 with his loving family by his side. Henry was born January 13, 1926 in Bowden, AB and was raised on the family farm in the Cottonwood district. He attended Olds School of Agriculture and then decided to become a Carpenter and block layer. Henry married the former Mary MacKenzie-Grieve and they have resided in Red Deer, AB for the past 56 years. Henry worked on his own for a few years and then got a job with Michener Services where he worked for 27 years. Henry coached his sons' sports teams as they were growing up; football, baseball and hockey. He was also involved in Cub Scouts as a leader and also a director on the board of the Westpark Community Association for many years. Henry's two favorite pastimes were camping with his loving family and golfing. Henry leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife, Mary of 56 years; his sons, David (Mert), Gordon, Terry and Doug (Julie); his grandchildren, Trish (Andrew), Crystal (Brent), Sarah, Thomas John and Bria; great grandchildren, Shanika, Kaylen and Maryisa. Henry will also be greatly missed by his sister, Gladys (Harold Dole); brothers, Roy (Ely) and Alfred. He is also survived by his many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law as well as his many nieces and nephews. Henry will also be missed by his many close friends. Henry was predeceased by his parents, Ivy and Henry Sr. A Funeral Service will be held for the late Henry John Husband on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 - 67A Street, Red Deer at 1:00 p.m. If family and friends wish in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 - 29 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 4N2 or the charity of donor's choice.
