HICKS W. Russell Russell passed away on February 9, 2008 at the Lacombe Community Health Care Centre at the age of 61 after a courageous battle with cancer. Russell was born in Toronto, Ontario on May 3, 1946 to Andrew & Anne Hicks. He received his BA degrees from Western University in London, Ontario. And obtained his LLB from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia. He practised law for many years in Alberta, Saskatchewan & Nova Scotia. He took great pleasure in playing golf, sailing, playing his guitar, collecting cars and spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished in the hearts of his family and dear friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Aulikki Hicks, son Darren Hicks, daughter Shelley Vickery, son-in-law Scott Vickery and very special grandson Regan Vickery, mother in law Lempi Kukkonen as well his aunt Joan (Joe) Salvalaggio, aunt Louise (Dave) MacKenzie, aunt Terry Whitehorn as well as numerous family members and friends throughout Canada. He was predeceased by his parents, grandparents, father in law & infant son. Celebration of Life will be held at Wilson’s Funeral Chapel 6120 Highway 2A Lacombe on Friday February 15, 2008 at 1:00pm. The family would like to thank all our family & friends for their support during Russell's illness.
