Hilda CARR

CARR, Hilda Mrs. Hilda Carr passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 27, 2004 at the age of 79 years. Hilda was born in Toronto on March 10, 1925 and moved with her family and parents, Charles and Margaret Scott, to Red Deer in 1935. Her father built the Scott Block on Gaetz Avenue and operated "Scott's 5 Cents To A Dollar Store" for many years. Hilda married Ronald Carr in 1946. They owned and operated the Allied TV and Appliance Store for twenty-seven years. Hilda will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends. She is survived by her loving sons; Russell Carr, Larry (Bev) Carr and her loving daughter, Pat (Ron) Tenove. She is also survived by her five grandchildren; Chris and Colin Tenove, Gillian, Ryan and James Carr, her sisters; Norma (Dave) Grove, Pat (Bob) Cathro, her sister-in-law, Velda Scott, her brothers-in-law; Ned Burgess and Bjorn Pedersen, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald in 1987, as well as her sisters, Margaret, Viola and recently her twin sister, Hazel and a brother, Ronald. Hilda was a very gentle soul who loved and was loved by many. She spent twenty years working in the Accounting Department at Michener Centre, retiring in 1987. Hilda was a long time member of the Lioness Club. Her most cherished memories were those of family gatherings, especially at their cabin in Sylvan Lake. A Celebration of Hilda's Life will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapels, 4820 - 45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, July 2, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Red Deer Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta.
