MEYER, Hilda Ruth Mrs. Hilda Ruth Meyer, beloved wife of Mr. Claude Meyer of Red Deer, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2004 at the age of 84 years. Hilda was born on April 24, 1920 at Cape Enrage, New Brunswick to Harley and Ethel Barbour. After completing High School and Business College, Hilda worked for a General Motors Dealership, where she obtained her certificate in accounting and continued her working career until she retired in 1980 due to ill health. On December 26, 1944, Hilda was united in marriage to Claude Meyer at Moncton, New Brunswick. In February 1946, the couple moved to Coronation, Alberta. In the summer of 1952, they moved to Calgary and lived there until Claude retired in 1984, at which time they returned to Coronation. While living there, Hilda was very active in the Royal Purple and the Ladies Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion. She was also a Charter Member of the Ladies Auxiliary and held Life Memberships in both organizations. Hilda leaves to mourn her loss, her loving husband, Claude, three sisters; Hazel Lyman of Riverview, New Brunswick, Elra Cairns of St. Stephen, New Brunswick and Winnie Cole of Calgary, Alberta, as well as several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to come and pay their respects at Eventide Funeral Chapels, 4820 - 45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. A Celebration of Hilda's Life will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapels, Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with The Reverend Father Joseph Dephoff, S.A.C. officiating. Cremation entrusted to the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
