HOHM, 1930 - 2007 Mrs. Edith Hohm, beloved wife of the late Mr. Herb Hohm, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, at the Red Deer Hospice on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at the age of 76 years. Edith was born on October 5, 1930 at Calgary, Alberta. Edith will forever be remembered for her positive attitude, gracious and gentle ways. She was a strong role model for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her knitting and crocheting abilities. She loved her flower garden and enjoyed picking out the bulbs and seeds to get her garden going. She took great delight in knitting family and friend's items that will be treasured for years to come. Mom's loves were family, friends and gardening. Not only flowers but souls. They say you can't pick your family only your friends. "You were always our friend, Mom and we would have chosen you above all others. Rest in Peace" Edith leaves to mourn her loss, her loving children; Deda and Brian Stone and family of Onanole, Manitoba, Phil and Val Horkey and family of Brandon, Manitoba, Lynda and Barry Harper and family of Kamloops, British Columbia, Joseph Horkey and family of Kelwood, Manitoba, John and Ardy Horkey and family of Edmonton, Alberta, Wade and Suzanne Horkey and family of Red Deer, Alberta, Pat and Pat Horkey and family of Edmonton, Alberta, Dwight Horkey and family of Brandon, Manitoba, twenty-three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and special mention of the Herb Hohm family of British Columbia. She will also be sadly missed by her brothers and sisters; Art and Fran Sallows and family of Shilo, Manitoba, Wayne Sallows and family of British Columbia, Les Sallows and family of Nova Scotia, Vic and Wendy Sallows and family of Sechalt, British Columbia and sister, Bev and family. Edith was predeceased by her husbands, Joseph and Herb and a daughter-in-law, Theresa Horkey. A Public Funeral Service will be held at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 18 Selkirk Blvd., Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. In place of flowers, Memorial Donations in Edith's honour may be made directly to the Red Deer Hospice, 99 Arnot Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta, T4R 3S6 or to a Charity of the donor's choice.
