OLESEN Howard Llewellyn Olesen passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2005 in Didsbury, Alberta, at the age of 93. He is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth, his sons Jim and Ken (Valerie) and their children Christine, Michael (Coralie), and Stephen Olesen all of Red Deer. He is also survived by one brother, Gordon of Prince George. Howard was much loved by his family and will be dearly missed. He was predeceased by his first wife Clara in 1983, his parents Elmer and Mina, one brother Robert and sisters Eunice Meriam and Erma Dupre. In his youth Howard was an exceptional curler, baseball and hockey player and continued to be an avid sportsman enjoying curling and bowling until his late 80's. He spent much of his youth in the Millet area where he met and later married Clara Kinchella. They eventually settled in Red Deer where Howard worked with Horsley's Hardware for over 25 years. He and Clara loved to garden, travel and spend time with their neighbors in the Woodlea area. In 1990 Howard married Elizabeth Campbell. For the next fifteen years Howard and Beth resided in Didsbury and together they traveled, gardened and spent many summers enjoying the trailer at Pine Lake. Howard will be missed by Elizabeth and her family, daughter Maxine (Norm), Beth's five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Howard was truly blessed to have Beth and her family as part of his life for so many years. Funeral services for Howard Olesen will be held at PARKLAND FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM, 6287 - 67A Street, Red Deer, AB on Friday, September 16, at 1:00 p.m. with Leanne Hall presiding.
