Ida KILDE

December 11, 2004

KILDE, Ida Irene Ida Irene Kilde of Red Deer passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital, with family close by, on December 8, 2004 at the age of 76 years. Ida was born on June 2, 1928 in Coronation, Alberta. She moved at a young age to the Rocky Mountain House area where she grew up and married Fred Moore in 1944. They then moved to Red Deer in 1948 where she raised her three children. During that time she operated a boarding house and enjoyed her career in the service industry in some of the finer restaurants on Red Deer. In 1968 she married George Kilde who predeceased her in 1989. Ida loved spending time with her grandchildren and she enjoyed gardening and cooking, presenting her family with dozens of pies and crab apple wine from the apples that grew in her back yard, and we can't forget the home canned goods from her garden. Ida moved to Calgary in 1997 to be closer to her younger grandchildren and great grandchild. She suffered the first of many health issues in 2001 with a stroke that partially paralysed her, affecting her speech but not her spirit. Her dignity, strength and grace in her recovery has been an inspiration to her family. Ida moved to Sylvan Lake in the fall of 2003, where she enjoyed her "first brand new home" at the Bethany Care Centre, where she was all the staff's favourite.

The simple sensation of being alive is joy enough

Ida will be lovingly remembered by two sons; Greg (Jacquelyn) Moore of Calgary and Alf (Kathy) Moore of Sylvan Lake, one daughter, Darlene Young of Edmonton, eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Ida was predeceased by her husband George and two sisters; Ruth Garret and Judy Pennington.
