HOPKINS Irvin Robert Dec. 21, 1929 - April 9, 2007. It is will great sadness we announce the passing of our loving and caring Husband, Father and Grandfather Irvin, who God in his wisdom took to rest at the age of 77 years after a lengthy, courageous battle with heart disease. Irvin leaves behind his loving wife Maryann of 37 years, sons Robert (Julie) Hopkins, Geordie Reid, Rick (Shannon) Reid, daughters: Cindy (Murray) Roesler, Donna MacKenzie, his 11 grandchildren: Kathleen, Kristine, Kyle, Ashley, Amy, Kent, Colleen, Justice, Bailey, Shealyn and one angel Amanda Marie. As well as numerous relatives and friends. For a great majority of his life Irvin's pride and joy was owning his own 18 wheeler and in the past 50 years he clocked over 5 million miles. he made many friends on his travels and was always willing to help out whenever needed, never expecting anything in return. irvin and Maryann retired to Skeleton Lake in 1997, where they enjoyed their new home, here Irvin could go quadding, fishing, ski-dooing and landscape his lots. They joined the Boyle Seniors Club where thay made many friends while taking part in Crib and all Club Activities. Irvin loved all of his family and since retiring the highlight of his days was watching his grandchildren grow up. Irvin was a man of very few words so when he had something to say, you knew you had better pay attention as it was worth listening to. In accordance with Irvin's wishes cremation has taken place and no funeral service will be held. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, April 14th from 11:00 -3:00 p.m. at Rob & Julie Hopkin's residence, 4307 - 12 Avenue Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 10985 - 124 Street, Edmonton, AB T5M 9Z9.
