James EDGEWORTH

EDGEWORTH James "Orval" Edgeworth beloved husband of Vera, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on December 1, 2005 at the RDRH at the age of 78. Orval was born on March 5, 1927 to Alex and Anne at Westbourne, Manitoba. He grew up on the family farm and then later moved to Portage LaPrairie. Orval met Vera and married her in 1951 and spent 54 happy years together. Orval was involved in many community and family activities. Some of his favorite clubs he was involved in were the Portage LaPrairie Rifle Club, Cubs, and Scouts, baseball and bowling. In December 1976, Orval and Vera moved to Red Deer, Alberta. He landed a job at the RDRH as security until his retirement. Orval looked forward to the summer months when he & Vera spent all their time traveling in their motorhome. Orval established the chapter of the Good Sam Club in Red Deer. Orval was predeceased by his parents Alex and Anne, a younger sister Margaret, and a nephew Neil. Orval is survived by his loving wife Vera and his children, Lynn Scarr (El Jacobs) of Blackfalds, Les (Terry) of Medicine Hat, Diane (Rodney) of Portage LaPrairie, Manitoba, Barb (Ron Greenlee) and David (Brenda) of Red Deer. Orval is also survived by ten grandchildren Diane, Angie, Jim, Christine, Corey, Jason, Tiffany, Chad, Ryan and Kyle as well as great grand children, Alexandria, J.T. Erika, Larissa, Alia, Isabel, and Keegan. Orval also is survived by his brothers and sisters Bert (Teri), Helen (Garry), Olive, Bob (Glenis), Ken (Charlene) and Hazel (John), as well as several nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be held December 7, 2005 at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society at 4730A Ross St. Red Deer, AB. T4N 9Z9.
