August 21, 2006

LAMB, James (Jim) It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Jim on August 18. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Marie, their sons, Keith (Karen) and Ken, and grandsons, Nolan (Laureen) and Adam; his sister, Margaret Allison, and brother Dan (Sharon). Jim was predeceased by his daughter, Judy, daughter-in-law, Edie, and brother-in-law, Robert Allison. Jim was born in 1929 in Lethbridge and grew up in Elkhorn, Manitoba. As a young man he came to Alberta where he worked as a mechanic in Lacombe and that is where he met Marie Mytton. They were married in 1950. The couple moved to Red Deer in 1955 and have resided there since. Jim took training as a heavy duty mechanic and opened his own business under the name of Mobile Repair. After an early retirement he took up doing handyman work and helped numerous appreciative people with their fix-it jobs. Jim obtained his pilots license and along with flights back to Manitoba and locally, some of his most memorable trips were his flights to Central America and the Arctic. Many good times and good friends were found at square dancing, playing cards, camping, golfing, and winter trips to California. Jim will be remembered for his entertaining skits, numerous jokes and very active and full life. At Jim's request there will be no funeral service. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that cards or letters relaying any stories or fond memories be forwarded to the family in care of: www.eventidefuneralchapels.com or by mail to the family. If desired, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society. Remember me with smiles and laughter For that's how I'll remember you all If you can only remember me with tears, Then don't remember me at all.
