Jean MAY

MAY Jean Eileen April 16, 1930-September 11, 2008 Jean May passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Nursing Home at the age of 78 years. Jean was a hard worker and spent the majority of her working life in the Sylvan Lake area. She worked with CIBC and then partnered with Don to run May’s Paints and The Alberta Treasury Branch, Motor Vehicles, Paint Store, Bottle Depot for many successful years. Jean enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, camping, knitting, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed volunteering with The Sylvan Lake Archive Society. Jean will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her four children, Dan (Connie), Barb (Mark), Kelly (Tracy), and Jackie (Harley); as well as her ten grandchildren, Mike, Leah, Scott, Elliott, Kyle, Connor, Taylor, Tuscany, Sterling, and Autumn. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Don and her three brothers Gerald, Gordon and Francis. The family extends a special thank you to Darcy of Nannies for Grannies; and the caring compassionate staff at the Sylvan Lake Lodge, The Red Deer Nursing Home and Sylvan Lake Home Care. A Celebration of Jean’s Life will be held at the Chapel of the Sylvan Lake Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to Rocky Mountain Crematorium. There will be no graveside interment. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations in Jean’s name may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
