Jean PAPINEAU

PAPINEAU Jean Papineau(Orum) of Clive AB passed away peacefully April 16th, 2008 at the Lacombe Hospital and Care Centre at the age of 87. She was born August 29, 1920 to Frank and Jessie Ashdown of Clive AB and raised on the farm north east of Clive. She married Harold Orum Dec.14th, 1946 and they had two children , Eleanor and Ian. Harold passed away July 1972. Jean married Almer Papineau Sept. 30th, 1978, who also passed away April 30th, 2000. Mom was the manager of Central Alberta Florist till she retired. Her interests included bowling, photography (was a member of 3 camera clubs), member of the 50 Plus club at Tees, member of the Rebekka Lodge in Lacombe, judged at many county fairs for photography and painted landscapes. She was and avid gardener and spoiled rotten any animal that ever came her way. Jean is survived by her loving children Eleanor(Buzz) Unwin of the Lincoln district and Ian (Debbie) Orum of Lacombe. Grandchildren; Darren (Denise) Unwin and Bradley Unwin , Joseph Orum and Gina (Trevor Pylatuik). Great grandchildren; Colten and Tanner Unwin and Cora Pylatuik. Step daughters, June(Allen)Guesk of Draydon Ontario and Dawn Papineau of Edmonton Alberta. Step grandchildren; Kathy , Lori, Rhonda and Philip Guesk and Trista and Tammy Papineau. Two sisters – in- law; Dolly and Mildred. She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Jessie Ashdown. Her brother Fred Ashdown in WWII. Husbands Harold Orum(1972) and Almer Papineau (2000), granddaughter Jackie Orum (1979) and stepson Butch Papineau Funeral services will be held from Wilson's Funeral Chapel & Crematorium on Tuesday April 22nd at 1:00 P.M. Internment will follow at the Clive Cemetery.
