John ALMEIDA

ALMEIDA John Almeida beloved father and grandfather passed away after a very courageous battle with cancer at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at the age of 73 years. John came to Canada as a young adult. He first arrived in Edmonton, AB, he worked for CP Rail. He then moved to Churchill, MB, where he worked on the Hudson Bay docks. The family then moved to Thompson, MB, where John worked in Construction. His career in construction/lumber yard led the family to Brandon, MB, and eventually to Red Deer, AB. After retiring at Revelstoke Lumber Yard Foreman, John then helped his wife Maria with her janitorial company, where they cleaned the Red Deer Advocate for 16 years. Shortly after the loss of his wife, John chose to permanently retire and devote his time to his adored grandchildren and his Mustang Convertible. He will be truly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his only son Tony (Sherry)of Red Deer, AB, and their children Amanda, Amy, Nicole and Joey. He is also survived by three brothers, one sister and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins & in-laws. He is predeceased by his wife Maria and daughter Manuella. A private interment will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at Alto Reste in Red Deer, AB. Eventide Funeral Chapel entrusted with arrangements.
