BRUNS John (Jack) 1928 - 2007 John (Jack) Harvey Bruns passed away at the Bethany Home in Sylvan Lake on September 16, 2007. He was born in Lacombe to his parents Floyd and Birdie. Jack took his schooling at West Branch one mile away from the family farm. Together, Jack and his wife raised eight children. Jack served his country in the Korean War with the P.P.C.I. While there, his unit won the U.S. President's Citation. This was the first citation ever given to a foreign country by a U.S. President. Jack is survived by three sons and four daughters, along with many grand children and great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and sister Jean (Don) Van Eaton of Clive. Jack was predeceased by his parents and by his son Gordon. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 20, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Wilson's Funeral Chapel, 6120 Highway 2A, Lacombe, Alberta. Interment to follow in the Lacombe Fairview Cemetery. The family would like to thank all the staff and doctors at the Bethany Home in Sylvan Lake for the excellent care over the past years. A special thanks also to Joanne Strong, Vanessa Soosay, Judy Ducharme and Nannies for Grannies for their service.
