John CARLSON

CARLSON John David Allen Beloved son, father and brother. John passed away suddenly June 12, 2006 after an industrial accident in Winnipeg, Manitoba. John was born on September 23, 1969 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and was raised on the family farm at Watrous, Sask. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Raymond and Ada Carlson, grandmother, Myrtle Gundry, grandmother Reta Gundry, aunt Sophie Gundry and cousin David Gundry. John attended Watrous Elementary and Winston High School in Watrous, Sask. He then decided to make welding his choice for the future. He went on to become a very skillful welder. John worked in Saskatchewan and Alberta but he finally made Winnipeg, Manitoba his home. Wherever John went he also made many friends. At the time of his death he was employed with Central Manitoba Railways. We thank them for their willingness to help us at this time. We know John would have appreciated it. John loved sports, won many ribbons and trophies, taking care of flowers and plants with his wife. He enjoyed visiting and just being with people. He was kind, generous and had a great laugh. All his family was very important to him. John leaves to remember him, his wife Loretta Fawcett, his son Garret, his step children Tanya and Timmy, rents Allen and Marilyn, brothers: James and his children Courtney, Vanessa, Travis and Lisette, Edward (Diane) and their daughter Eva, grandfather Harvey Gundry. He will also be remembered by several aunts and uncles, numerous cousins and many, many friends. A Remembrance service is being held on Wednesday, July 19 at 2:00 p.m. in Winnipeg, Manitoba at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons St. Winnipeg, Manitoba.There will also be a Remembrance service held on Sunday, July 29 at 2:00 p.m. at the Venn Cemetery. Desjardins Funeral Home is also providing assistance at the second service. The assistance of the manager of Desjardins is so appreciated at this sad and stressful time in our families life. The family thanks everyone for their thoughtfulness and helpfulness especially to Dave Gill and the CEO of Central Manitoba Railway as well as the staff at SICU of the Health Sciences Centre. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciated donations to either the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
