GILLIS John Malcolm Gillis died at home on Tuesday December 6, 2005. John was born on July 6, 1925 in Sky Glen, Inverness County Cape Breton, NS. He left home at an early age to work in the Gold Mine in Cadillac Quebec where he met and married May in 1946, After their marriage John and May moved to Ontario where they resided for 40 years. In 1990 John and May moved to Lacombe, AB. John’s pride and love of his family was equaled only by their love and pride for him. John was devoted to his children and loved to have his grandchildren sit on his knee or pull on his whiskers. Predeceased by his loving wife Sarah (May) in April 2002, his father Angus John Gillis in 1974 and his mother Margaret in 1960, he will be deeply missed by his children, Marion Larose, Linda Prockiw (Bob) of Alix, AB, Janet Blais (Ryian) of Pickering, Ontario, Sue Bolton of Barrie, Ontario, Joanne Boruck of Lacombe, AB and John "Butch" Gillis, (Dianna) of Bentley, AB, he is also survived by his grandchildren Robert, Rennie, & Krista Prockiw, Kevin Jason & Jeremy Blais, Gary, Sara-Mae & Tyler Boruck, Emily and Kaitlyn Gillis and his great grandchildren Erin, Ashley, Blair, Nicole, Curtis, Constance, Quinn and Olivia. Funeral services will be held from Wilson’s Funeral Chapel 6120 Highway 2A Lacombe, AB on Thursday December 8, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation to follow at Central Alberta Crematorium.
