John “Jack” Bulloch
1930 – 2017
On April 26, 2017 the Lord called a very special man home. Jack was born in Lousana, Alberta to Niels and Mary Christensen (the second oldest of four children). Jack married Nancy Bovingdon on September 7, 1955 and they were married for 61 years. Together they raised seven children in Delburne; Debbie (Ben) Kletke, Mel (Leanne) Christensen, Kathy (Dwayne) Lalor, John (Pat) Christensen, Brian (LeAnne) Christensen, Lisa (Ron) LeMasurier, Geta (Cary) Grant, 20 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Jack was predeceased by his daughter Nancy Francis in 1965. Family was everything to Jack and he had a way of making everyone feel special. Jack started working for Canadian Utilities before joining the Army in 1951. Upon his return he worked in the family business; Delburne Meats and Lockers until 1985. Jack enjoyed working at Mirror Packers and Northwest Motors in his later years. Jack was very proud of being part of the Knights of Columbus, Social Justice and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He held numerous positions with these associations as well as positions with the Village of Delburne as Mayor, Fire Chief and the Director of Disaster Services. Sports have always been an important part of Jack’s life. He coached his children in minor sports, but his real passion was refereeing football in Central Alberta. Jack took great pleasure in watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports. We feel so lucky to have had dad in our lives. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 6 – McMillian Ave., Red Deer, AB on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.. Following the church service, family and friends are invited to meet at the Delburne Community Hall in Delburne starting at 3:00 p.m. for a time of fellowship and sharing of memories.
