MARSH, John
May 22, 1943 - June 12, 2017
Passed away peacefully at Extendicare Michener Hill. John was born in Stettler, AB and was raised in the Great Bend District near Delburne. Parents were Walter and Florence Marsh. At age 16 John left school to be a heavy equipment operator, his first job was in road construction. He would continue his career, working mainly in oilfield and road construction for the next 41 years, until early retirement in 2001. John was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 955 for 47 years. Predeceased by his parents, his sister Julia and Great Grandson Troy. Survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Ruth; his brother Wayne; daughter Lynda, daughter Lori, and son Tony. As well as 7 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 19th at 11am, at Alto Reste Cemetery in Red Deer, followed by a reception at Clearview Hall (93 Cornett Dr, Red Deer). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, #6 5015 48 Street, Red Deer, Ab, T4N 1S9.
