Johnny WALTER

September 29, 2007

WALTER Johnny Walter passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre with dear friends at his side on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at the age of 68 years. He will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him and those he touched. He was known as "Grandfather, Son, Uncle Johnny, Santa Claus, Special Policeman, Brother and Father" to many. Johnny always and generously offered a smile or handshake to a stranger. He had a special gift in life as a protector of the children of Red Deer. He always made time for others. He had many words of wisdom for children. Johnny loved family home-made food, goody bags after church and Christmas. Johnny loved those one might consider down and out whether they were at church, at the soup kitchen and even at the bus stop. His smile and presence would light up any room. Johnny had a very giving heart and would spend his last nickel on coffee with a friend. Johnny always looked at everything in a positive way. The cup wasn’t just half full it was full to the brim. Johnny loved to give out cards and presents to everyone, even with his meager means to buy them, he truly had a giving heart. Johnny is a child of God, sanctified by his Savior Jesus Christ and is now rejoicing in Heaven. His body is made perfect and he is reunited with friends and family. Johnny is free to sing, dance and praise God with all his ability and all his might. Those dear to Johnny wish to thank Dr. Greig, the staff of Unit 32 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital, Catholic Social Services and his CrossRoads Church family.
