KNIGHT 1928 - 2008 Mr. Stewart Knight of Lacombe, Alberta passed away unexpectedly at the Lacombe Hospital and Care Centre on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 just prior to his 80th birthday. Stewart was born on November 29, 1928 at Estevan, Saskatchewan. He started his chosen career with the Canadian Armed Forces until his retirement. Stewart was an avid outdoorsman, loved to hunt and fish and play games such as crib and darts. He was a kind and gentle man who always put his family and friends first. He was there on a moments notice if you wanted a helping hand. Even when health issues prevented him from traveling he was there with positive words and encouragement. He will be sadly missed and remembered for his smile. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean Knight of Lacombe, his four children, Allen (Olga) Knight of Calgary, Diane Knight (Vic) of Comox, British Columbia, Cheryl Knight of Calgary and Janice Knight of St. Albert, Alberta, his three step-children, Terri Kowalchuk of Stettler, Ron (Susan) Young of Stettler and Cory Young (Darryl) of Lacombe, his twelve grandchildren, his two great grandchildren and a brother, Gordon Knight and a sister Shirley (Mike) Cordy. He was predeceased by his sister, Irene Dockstader, his grandson, Garrett Knight and his step-son-in-law, Wayne Kowalchuk. A celebration of Stewart's life will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820- 45 Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation entrusted to the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer. A private family graveside service will be held at Alto-Reste Cemetery, Red Deer.
