Laura BARTKO

BARTKO, Laura Jean Bartko of Red Deer, passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at the age of 86 years. Laura was born on June 28, 1919 at Strasbourg, Saskatchewan. She was a longtime member of the Knox Presbyterian Church in Red Deer. Laura’s unique ability to love, listen and laugh brought joy to all those fortunate enough to be part of her life. Laura leaves to mourn her loss, her daughters, Roberta Staveley (Fred Stewart) of Bragg Creek, Alberta and Marjorie Sochr (Margaret Clarke) of Edmonton, Alberta and her grandchildren, Catheryn and James Staveley and Shelly and Brian Sochr. Laura was predeceased by her husband, James McNaughton. A Public Celebration of Laura’s Life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 4718 Ross Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. A Private Family Interment will be held at the Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, Regina, Saskatchewan. The family wishes to acknowledge the nurses of the Red Deer Community Health Unit for supporting Laura to live her life with dignity and independence in her own home.
