Leo PELTIER

PELTIER Leo N. Peltier passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Sunday, October 21, 2007 at the age of 83 years. Leo will be sadly missed by his wife of 61 years, Evelyn and his two daughters: Alice (Bruce) Kumm of Red Deer and Laurianne (Les) Spicer of Carstairs; three grandchildren: Nicole (Chris) Kalan, Annette (Ian) Cameron and Richard (Tina) Spicer; seven great - grandsons: Brandon, Kevin, Cory, Shanon, Jordon, Tanner and Mitchell. Leo's memory will be further cherished by his one sister, Simone Connors, as well as numerous sisters and brothers - in - laws, nieces, nephews and many very dear friends especially Ann Marie and Barrie Levasseaur. Leo was predeceased by his twin sister, Leona, brother, Raymond and grandson, Justin Kumm. Leo served in the WWII and then pursued a career in teaching. He taught at Lindsay Thurber Composite High School for many years and then worked as the French Consultant for the Red Deer Public School Board until his retirement in 1987. After retirement Leo volunteered at the Red Deer Hospital Gift Shop for the RDC Volunteer Association for 15 years. Leo was fondly known as Peré by his family and close friends. Leo had a real love of gardening and nature and he really enjoyed many happy times at his cottage at Sylvan Lake. A Prayer Service will be held at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67A Street, Red Deer, AB on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508 – 48A Avenue, Red Deer, AB on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with Father Don Stein officiating. Memorial Donations may be directed to the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre Voluntary Association Bag 5030 Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 6R2.
