Leslie IVAN

IVAN Leslie William 1957 – 2008 The Lord has called home our father, son, brother, nephew, uncle and friend. Les was born on March 1, 1957 in Taber, Alberta, the oldest of a family of 8 children. He was instantly taken from us in a motor vehicle accident on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the age of 51 near Elko, Nevada. He will be sadly missed by one son, Conlee; one daughter, Cassie; parents, Bill and Ann Ivan; four brothers, Shannon (Sherry), Larry (Kelly), Randy (Mona) and Timothy; three sisters, Mandy (Tim O.), Sara and Vanessa; special nephews and nieces, Colin (Christie), Shaun (Jill), Ryan (Jessica), Quinton, Katarina and Chelsee. Les graduated from St. Mary's High School in Taber in 1975. His life was spent farming and ranching at Taber and Brooks, cowboyin' in B.C., trucking across Canada and the US, and wilderness trail guiding in Manning, B.C. and Nordegg. He loved riding horses, roping, skiidoing and most recently quadding. Les was adventurous and loved to take others whether canoeing, skiing or trail riding. His camera was always with him; he so enjoyed the beauty of nature. He showed his photos to everyone and shared his experiences. His family and friends were very important to him and he wouldn't miss a family reunion or gathering and often was in the planning. He in turn was loved by many and we're sad to say "So long for now, Les". Les was predeceased by his grandparents, Steve and Elizabeth Ivan and Abram and Katarina Braun; brother, Michael Vance in infancy and 4 uncles, one aunt and 3 cousins.
