Mr. Leslie Harold Johannson of Markerville, born January 2, 1937, passed away suddenly and quietly on Friday, February 4, 2005 at his home in Markerville. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Dorothy, his children,

Bonny Johannson, Lorraine Johannson, Phillip (Leslie) Johannson, Brenda (Darcy) Garrett, Joan (Allan) Quartly, Judy (Daryl) McIntyre and grandchildren Adam Poulton, Janel, Alana and Rena Quartly. His brother and sisters; Fred (Lavilla) Johannson, Shirley Dye and Bernice (Fred) Andersen and numerous nieces and nephews. He spent his life in the Markerville area farming and raising cattle. He was a charter member of the Stephan G. Stephansson Icelandic Society. He always enjoyed sports especially curling. He loved to coffee with the neighbors and share his stories. He will be remembered for his big smile and his willingness to share his time. He was predeceased by his parents Joe Johannson 1984 and Lily Johannson in 1973 and nephew Lindsay Andersen in 1992. Funeral services for the late Les Johannson will be held Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at 2:00 pm. from the Innisfail United Church, 4720 48th Ave. Innisfail with Reverend Margaret Lange officiating. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Markerville Fensala Hall Restoration Fund C/O S.G. Stephansson Icelandic Society Box 837 Markerville, Alberta TOM 1M0 or the charity of one's choice.
