LISKA, November 13, 1948 - April 20, 2007 Bettylou died peacefully at the U of A Hospital in Edmonton on April 20, 2007 surrounded by her loving family. Bettylou was born in Barrhead, Alberta on November 13, 1948 to Leonard and Yvonne LaBerge. Bettylou is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, George, her daughter, Barb (Ed) Hogan, her sons; Dustin Liska and Rick (Mel) Baker, her mother Yvonne LaBerge, her sister, Lori (Steve) Flood, her brother, Ron (Rita) LaBerge and her sister, Darcy Lockhart. She is also survived by her three granddaughters; Cheyney, Shayla and Cassidee, four grandsons; Tristan, Kyle, Arin and Logan as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bettylou was predeceased by her father, Leonard LaBerge in 1997 and her daughter, Ronda Thompson in 2006. Bettylou married George on December 2, 1972 in Vancouver, B.C. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Ft. Assiniboine, Alberta where they resided for approximately five years. Then they moved to Red Deer where she resided until her passing, except for one year spent in Mallorca, Spain where George worked in the oilfield. At the time of her passing, Bettylou worked at Convergy's. She has worked and volunteered in a variety of different fields but always said that her favourite job was with the City of Red Deer Transit Department as a bus driver. Her husband George said she was “MY LOVE, MY WIFE, MY LIFE!!” and life will never be the same without her. Bettylou was a wonderful, caring and special woman. An amazing wife, mother, grandmother and most of all “OUR BEST FRIEND”. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew her. A Memorial Service will be held on April 26, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at the Ft. Assiniboine Legion Hall.
