LUDWIG Louis Albert Sept.13, 1932 - Feb. 6, 2008 Louis Ludwig, passed away unexpectedly at the Foothills Hospital, Calgary on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at the age of 75 years. He is survived by his loving companion, Elsie Garriott, three daughters, Louise MacDonald, Donna Pimm, Jocelyn Takahashi, two sons, Bradley Ludwig, Bentley Ludwig and their families. He is also survived by his siblings, Doris Heidinger, Edwin, Victor, Fern Lange and Jean Pyska. Louis was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Rita Edna (nee Poll), his parents, Mary and Edward, one brother, Ernest, two sisters, Alice Ludwig and Eleanor Krieger. Louis was born near Browning, Saskatchewan. He developed a love for music early in life and was self taught in a variety of musical instruments. Lou and Rita, along with their family, moved to the Red Deer area in the 1960s where he remained for the rest of his life, playing music at numerous venues throughout Central Alberta. Through his music, he enjoyed many years of fulfillment and gained numerous life-long friendships. A Prayer Service will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapels, 4820-45 Street, Red Deer on Monday, February 11, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 6 McMillan Avenue, Red Deer on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Lou's honour may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 101, 5208-53 Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 5K2.
