September 18, 2004

ROBINSON, Louise Louise died peacefully Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at Ashley Cottage, Red Deer at the age of 85. Louise was predeceased by her husband Jack in 1993, by her parents Jacob Enns and Annie Enns (Loewen), sisters Annie and Sara and a brother Henry. She is survived by daughters Martha (Al) of Victoria, Phyllis (Keith) of Sylvan Lake, Sharon (Brent) of Sherwood Park, son Bob (Carol) of Spokane; sisters Helen of Grande Prairie and Lydia of Seattle; grandchildren Pat, Debbie and Kelly; Brian and Heather; Bruce Trish and Julie; Scot and Corey; and great grandchildren Cala, Donnay and Tyrel; Mathew and Kirsten; Josh and Ellen; Jessica and Nigel; Adam Drew and Beth and Garreth together with several nieces and nephews. Louise was born in Russia and emigrated with her family to Canada at the age of 10. She spent most of those early years in the La Glace district in Northern Alberta where she met and married Jack. Their marriage was a working partnership in the business of farming, first on the family homestead at La Glace and then west of Grande Prairie where in 1955 they won Alberta’s prestigious Master Farm Family Award. Louise epitomized the virtues of a strong work ethic and not only pursued the many activities that go with a mixed farming operation but excelled at cooking, sewing knitting and gardening. The coffee was always on and there were always fresh buns and homemade blueberry jam to go with a good visit. She belonged to the local Women’s Institute and was a curling enthusiast. She loved her active life as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. Louise moved to Red Deer in 2000 to retire and be near family where she enjoyed their company and most especially that of her good friend Tom Benson. By Louise’s request, she will be cremated and her ashes placed with those of her husband in Grande Prairie. A very private family gathering will take place following cremation, with no formal funeral or memorial service being held. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the charity of choice. Condolences may be forwarded to the family at
