WALTON Luella Jean Luella Jean Walton, born on December 3, 1914, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2006 at the Rosefield Centre, Innisfail at the age of 91 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Donnie (Verna) Walton of Erskine, Sharon (Jack) Barnes of Elnora, and Larry Walton of Calgary. She will also be remembered by eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, one brother Jim (Elaine) Anderson of Bowden, one sister Marjorie Popovich of Renton, Wash., as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ernie, her parents Oscar and Ena “Grandma” Anderson, two brothers, three sisters, one grandson and one great-grandson. Luella was born in Sibbald, AB and moved to Bowden at an early age. She married Ernie in 1937 and they farmed in the Bowden area. Luella was a long time member of the Bowden Helping Hands Rebekah Lodge. She also worked at Alberta Nursery for several years, until Ernie took a job with Pioneer Grain and they moved to Elnora. While in Elnora she worked at the Elnora Creamery and was actively involved with U.C.W. and the Curling Club. They stayed in Elnora until Ernie’s passing, at which time she moved to Olds where she worked at Craig’s Clothing Store until she retired. Then she moved to Innisfail and resided at Dodds Lake Manor for several years. She then moved to Autumn Glen Lodge and most recently to the Rosefield Centre. A memorial service for Luella Jean Walton will be held at the Innisfail United Church (4720 48th Ave) on Monday, July 10, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to S.T.A.R.S. or to the charity of your choice.
