Lyal REYKDAL

REYKDAL Lyal Curtis Lyal passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on August 10,2008 at the age of 67. Lyal was born in Baldur, Manitoba, November 25, 1940 to Fridric and Blanche Reykdal of Baldur, MB. Lyal will be lovingly missed by his wife, Connie Reykdal nee (Berry) of Red Deer, his daughter, Cindy Reykdal of Red Deer, and his son, Curtis Reykdal of Calgary. Lyal was a proud and affectionate Grandfather. His three Grandsons will miss him and treasure many memories spent with Grandpa, Cody Reykdal, Dillan Reykdal, and Liam Reykdal. Lyal was close with his family and many a cherished visit was had with sisters, Patsy Mitchell, Bonnie Desrochers, brothers, Clifford Reykdal and Peter Reykdal, sister-in-laws, Lorna Reykdal, Eleanor Reykdal, Wendy Law and Linda Sherman and brother-in-laws, Edwin Berry and Bruce LaLonde. Lyal also had many great times with numerous nieces and nephews. Lyal moved to Alberta from Manitoba 22 years ago where he owned Lyal's Solo store in Cypress River, Manitoba. In Alberta he worked oil patch and did construction until he retired two years ago. Lyal worked hard and played hard and his family and friends will remember him for his love of socializing. Whether it was a planned camping weekend or an impromptu gathering around the table in Lyal and Connie's kitchen, all were welcomed. Lyal's star shone the brightest when he was surrounded with family and friends. Connie, Cindy and Curtis would like to thank the nurses and doctors at the cancer clinic, unit 32 of Red Deer Regional Hospital. Your care and concern helped Lyal and us through some very tough times. No funeral service will be held at Lyal's request. He will be cremated and his ashes will be taken home to Grund Cemetery in Baldur Manitoba. Any donations friends and family want to make please do so at a charity of your choice
